About this course

Welcome to the Library Research Skills for Knowledge Synthesis course! This course is for any student who wishes to increase their proficiency in conducting research for systematic reviews, scoping reviews and other types of knowledge synthesis. 

 Learning Outcomes 

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

  • Develop the ability to identify and analyze the various features of different types of reviews in order to make well-informed decisions when selecting the most suitable review type to use for your knowledge synthesis project.
  • Formulate a research question for your review and apply a suitable question framework when appropriate.
  • Understand fundamental database search techniques and identify core databases and resources used for identifying published and unpublished literature.
  • Incorporate tools and resources for proper reporting and management of a review to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
